About the festival
MareziJazz – international big band festival, as the name itself suggests, is a festival dedicated to presenting the music of big bands. The purpose of such an event is to learn about, preserve and develop jazz and big band music. In any case, this genre is not limited to jazz and its subgenres, but with the original repertoires of individual bands, it flirts with very diverse music styles. The recognition of MareziJazz has grown considerably over the years due to the quality of its organisation, and both foreign and local bands like to take pride in taking part in this festival. This kind of event offers the performers opportunities to network with other musicians and get to know new bands, and also represents the potential for establishing interesting collaborations between musicians. Of course, the event wants to share the quality music of top artists with the widest possible audience - from this point of view, the entry to the event has always been free, and additional accessibility to listeners all over the world is made possible by live streaming.
MareziJazz, the largest event with big band music in Europe, is celebrating its coming of age this year - it is taking place for the 18th year in a row, without interruption.
